Please be noted that Iraq customs issued new customs tariff with effect of 1st
May 2015 and we understand that customs tax/duty is been increased from 5% to 15 % from 1st May 2015 for all import shipment into Iraq. Will forward the new customs tariff on receipt of the same from customs authorities. Due to sudden hike on customs fee all local customers are very upset and conducted strike today at Umm Qasr port gate due to which port gate was closed by Iraqi National guards for safety reason. Due to which today there was very less movement at port (in and out) and all customers are holding clearance formalities till customs review the current new tariff.

Customs new tariff is still under negotiation between local customers and Iraq customs authority.

Will keep you posted.
